Orabrush iPad 2 Video Parody Eclipses Original Apple Video for Number of YouTube Views

Light-hearted Product Video Spoof Generates more than 1.2 Million Views, Nearly 100,000 more than Apple's Official iPad 2 Product Video

PROVO, Utah (May 23, 2011) – Orabrush, the tongue cleaner that helps cure bad breath, today announced that the company's creative video parody of a popular iPad 2 product video produced by Apple has generated more YouTube views than the original. As of May 20, 2011, the Orabrush parody featuring the company's novel tongue cleaner had attracted 1,215,117 views on YouTube, 97,775 more than the official Apple iPad 2 video.

"The idea came to me when I watched Apple's video for the iPad 2 release," said Jeffrey Harmon, chief marketing officer of Orabrush. "We pulled together as a team and wrote, produced, shot and released the parody video in less than a week. We made it because we thought it would be fun, but we were surprised to see how much traction it has received since. I never would have imagined it would get more YouTube views than the video we were parodying."

In a similar vein as the original iPad 2 video, the Orabrush video features slick video camera pans of the Orabrush tongue cleaner and exaggerated product claims made by multiple characters. The catch is that all of the characters are played by a single actor, Orabrush's well-known pitchman, Austin Craig, "The Orabrush Guy".

The iPad 2 parody is the latest in a series of online video spots that have catapulted Orabrush to global online stardom. With approximately 38 million views of its YouTube channel, the company's quirky, creative spots have propelled Orabrush into a No. 2 ranking for the number of subscribers of a sponsored YouTube channel (behind only P&G's Old Spice).
