  • Orabrush Ranked Third Among Sponsored YouTube Channels for Number of Subscribers and Has also Gained More than 270,000 Facebook Fans
  • More than One Million Tongue Cleaners Sold Worldwide in Less Than a Year

PROVO, Utah (March 15, 2011) – Orabrush, the tongue cleaner that helps cure bad breath, today announced it has surpassed 35 million views of its YouTube channel, continuing its quick pace of growth in online viewership.

"Wayne Gretsky said, 'A good player goes where the puck is. A great player goes where the puck is going to be,'" said Jeffrey Harmon, chief marketing officer of Orabrush. "In marketing, online video is where the puck is going to be and we hope our YouTube videos are Gretsky-esque in their approach to marketing. The videos have already created huge awareness of our product online and are also helping get our foot in the door with retailers across the country and around the globe. Our team has a lot of fun making videos we like to watch. We're glad a lot of other people like them, too."

One strategic aspect of Orabrush's social media strategy initially began six months ago when the company augmented its edutainment YouTube videos with a weekly vlog featuring "Morgan the Orabrush tongue" as a life-sized, down on his luck character. The vlog, Diary of a Dirty Tongue, currently has 33 zany and creative videos that have been viewed over two million times. Other YouTube celebrities like Wheezy Waiter and Rhett & Link occasionally appear in the vlog bringing with them more viewers as they cross collaborate.

This news of continued growth on YouTube follows the company's recent announcement that it has closed a $2.5 million funding round from Palo Alto-based True Ventures and Chicago-based 2X Consumer Products Growth Partners, which will primarily be used to expand the company's retail presence. Orabrush has sold more than one million tongue cleaners through the Internet and is currently available in 50 retailers in five countries. New retail locations are expected to increase dramatically during 2011.

Orabrush also recently announced that it has become the third-most-sponsored YouTube channel for number of subscribers. In addition to its 35-plus million channel views, the company has added approximately 120,000 YouTube subscribers, and is approaching 280,000 Facebook fans.
